Wine Writer #7 – Texas based writer, reviewer, influencer
Having started my professional career in PR, I know the effort it takes to do it well. There are some that standout for polite persistence, expectation setting, attention to detail and delivering on promises made. Carl is one such media relations professional that rises above the pack.
Wine Writer #6 – Mid-West Syndicated Newspaper Journalist and Blogger
Carl arranged a two day visit after I had done some interviewing and writing about a couple of his clients earlier this year. I must start by saying Carl’s work in helping me set up those interviews was really first rate. Not only did he provide all the email addresses and alert the winemakers to expect my questions, but he also provided images, samples, and appropriate social media handles for each winery. This fall an opportunity came up to visit the Willamette Valley. Carl was just coming off a long European vacation and the Wine Bloggers Conference in Washington but still put together a great agenda. He picked me up in Portland and carted me around gleefully for two days. He’d refresh each wineries background and details as we drove to out next stop. Carl’s amiable company made the two days a real joy.
Wine Writer #5 – Wine Writer, Certified Somm, International Wine Judge
Carl organized a media trip for us, to visit multiple wineries and meet winemakers/vintners in the Willamette Valley. You could not find a more organized, detail oriented, effective communicator to work with than Carl. He is an engaging individual, attentive, respectful and considerate, and projects a positive attitude. Carl thinks strategically and plans ahead to ensure that goals and expectations of all parties are met. He is a delight to work with, and his in-depth knowledge of wine, marketing, Oregon wine regions and personalities add to his strengths. Thanks Carl, I look forward to sharing our mutual passion for working in the wine industry at future events.

“Carl Giavanti is a well-respected and incredibly insightful professional with an unrivaled passion for consulting, marketing and PR. His affinity and enthusiasm of the wine industry shines through his work with the wineries of Oregon. Carl worked diligently to put together a two day personal media tour focusing on two of the Willamette Valley’s famed AVAs: Yamhill Carlton and McMinnville.
