Wine Writers

Wine Writer Case #6 – Mid-West Syndicated Newspaper Journalist and Blogger

Carl arranged a two day visit after I had done some interviewing and writing about a couple of his clients earlier this year. I must start by saying Carl’s work in helping me set up those interviews was really first rate. Not only did he provide all the email addresses and alert the winemakers to expect my questions, but he also provided images, samples, and appropriate social media handles for each winery. This fall an opportunity came up to visit the Willamette Valley. Carl was just coming off a long European vacation and the Wine Bloggers Conference in Washington but still put together a great agenda. He picked me up in Portland and carted me around gleefully for two days. He’d refresh each wineries background and details as we drove to out next stop. Carl’s amiable company made the two days a real joy.

“Carl Giavanti is a well-respected and incredibly insightful professional with an unrivaled passion for consulting, marketing and PR. His affinity and enthusiasm of the wine industry shines through his work with the wineries of Oregon. Carl worked diligently to put together a two day personal media tour focusing on two of the Willamette Valley’s famed AVAs: Yamhill Carlton and McMinnville. Lunches, tastings and tours took place in a timely manner while covering important aspects of each winery visited. As a wine writer, having access to vineyards, wine growers, winemakers, winery owners and wines is of the utmost importance, and Carl successfully coordinated meetings which provided me with exceptional content needed for interesting and educational articles.
