Turning Wine into Publicity
Carl Giavanti is a winery publicist with a DTC Marketing background. He also writes a wine industry blog and interviews wine personalities. His consulting focus is Winery PR & Media communications and its relevance to consumer direct marketing. While many PR firms serve large corporate entities across multiple industries, Carl works exclusively with small to medium size wineries, which he believes have the best stories, but least visibility in a crowded marketplace.
The goal is to help clients build brand awareness, earn recognition in their key markets, and of course, to sell wine. Carl consults, recommends, manages, and promotes client stories and wines, and develops a comprehensive media strategy and messaging appropriate for their audience.
Carl has more than 25 years of experience in sales and marketing. He helps clients by identifying key selling points, cultivating relationships, formulating big-picture strategies, and assisting with the execution of their plans. Since joining the wine industry in 2009, he’s helped over 50 wineries in Willamette Valley, Napa Valley, Walla Walla, and the Columbia Gorge advance their PR & Marketing goals.
